College Lakes Fitness Center

Adults can now exercise using some of the latest fitness technology! The fitness room is equipped treadmills, elliptical machines and stationary bikes to increase cardiovascular fitness. A simple questionnaire must be completed on the first visit and renewed annually.
18+; 13-17 yrs must be accompanied by parent; Mon.-Fri.; 1-9 pm; Sat.; 9 am-5 pm; Sun.; 2-5 pm   

Line Dance

Get ready to learn all the latest dance steps and be part of a group that shows off their moves. You will get to go dancing at other centers and organizations. Come and join in on the fun!

Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS)

Want to stay fit and trim? If the answer is yes, then you will want to join this group. You will meet in a group setting and learn strategies that will help you in losing that extra, unwanted weight.

Women of Conversation

We all have past failures, disappointments and disapprovals. This program is designed with you in mind, because your brokenness does not define who you are. Come fellowship and inspire through the conversations of others are a perfect way for nourishment as well as a stellar opportunity to listen, strengthen and inspire others.

AAYP Youth Martial Arts

Try our unique martial arts program with concentration in better school grades, respect, discipline, self-control, self-esteem, confidence, responsibility, stranger danger, bullying, and safety awareness.

AAYP Tiny Tigers Karate

Build confidence, learn discipline, have fun, grow strong! Tiny Tigers karate is a great place to start your young one's martial arts journey.

Cooking and Us

Family friendly cooking class so parent’s can bond with their children for cooking at home. Easy recipes for all ages to enjoy. Recipes provided each class to you can build your own cookbook.

Come join a card club and try your hand at different card games.

Little Quilts for Little Hearts

Cape Fear Table Tennis Club

Join us for fun, friendly, or competitive play! All ages and skill levels welcome. Improve your game or just enjoy the action!

Balance, Speed, & Agility (B.S.A)

Come work on your core, footwork, and flexibility to become a better athlete. Verta max training

Youth Open Gym

The gym will be open to shoot around or play a basketball game with others. Open Gym is suspended when athletic events are scheduled in the gym and is subject to change depending on recreation center programs or events.

Adult Open Gym

Gym hours may vary depending on center activities. Valid picture identification is required.

Fireseeds

Anazópureó, Stir up the gift! Fireseeds is a nonprofit organization that is providing Cumberland County individuals with disabilities the opportunity to transform talents into a careers. Fireseeds is infused with therapeutic activities that motivate and revive unused talents. Every Friday Fireseeds will offer therapeutic entertainment followed by constructive activities that nurture and produce talents that lead to purpose and purpose that leads to a mission.

Coaches Needed

Baseball, Softball, Indoor Soccer, Summer Basketball, Summer Volleyball, Fall Baseball, Football, Soccer, Cheerleading and Volleyball coaches are needed at College Lakes Recreation Center. For information or to volunteer, stop by or call the recreation center.

Special Events

Share the Warmth Coat Drive

Bring new or gently used coats and sweatshirts of all sizes to the College Lakes Recreation Center to help those in need for the winter. All coats will be donated to a local organization for distribution.

Game Night

Let’s see who the best is gamer in the city. Madden, 2K, C.O.D will play on Play Station and Xbox systems. Bring your own controller. Please pre-register by Sept. 16.

Fall Community Yard Sale

Have some items that are in good condition that you would love to give away? Bring those items to College Lakes Recreation Center for our fall yard sale. You keep all proceeds from the sale, all you have to do is register for a parking space (parking space comes with one table). Pre-registration is required.

Trunk or Treat

We will be partnering with Pine Forest Recreation Center for our annual trunk or treat. Bring out your entire family for a fun-filled evening. If you’re interested in providing a trunk, please call the center for more information. Location will be at College Lakes Park.

Glow in the Dark Volleyball

We are turning the lights out! Volleyball done different. Come get your GLOW on. Pre-register by Nov. 19.

Basketball Clinic

Learn the fundamentals of basketball from experienced players and coaches. Participants will learn basic shooting and defensive skills through various drills and exercises. The first 20 that register will get a free gift!

Valentine’s Parent’s Night Out

Celebrate your love for one another without your children in tow! Drop your kids off at the recreation center for an evening of Valentine’s Card making, movies, and refreshments.  Please pre-register by Feb. 9.
