Fayetteville Redevelopment Commission
The Fayetteville Redevelopment Commission is appointed as the primary citizen participation mechanism for projects planned and implemented through the City's Community Development Block Grant and HOME programs. The Fayetteville Redevelopment Commission formulates and recommends policy to the City Council on housing and community and economic development issues with emphasis on older, declining lower income neighborhoods; and plans and implements the City's Community Development programs.

The following is information for assistance with Disaster Relief:
Disaster Recovery Housing Repair Program
This program is designed to serve as an additional means of financial assistance to low to moderate income homeowners and investor owners with rental property housing low to moderate income tenants. The goal of this program is to decrease the financial burden of property owners located within the city limits of Fayetteville with housing repairs not fully covered by FEMA, SBA or private insurances for the units affected by Hurricane Matthew.
The Disaster Recovery Housing Repair Program will offer grants up to $5,000 to low to moderate income owner occupants and zero percent interest loans up to $5,000 for investor owners housing low to moderate income tenants to assist with housing repairs as a result of Hurricane Matthew.

Community Investment is a division of the Community Development Department and provides economic opportunities for small businesses within the Fayetteville city limits. It seeks to create positive community investment situations resulting in job opportunities for low to moderate income persons and expansion of the tax base. We provide loan and grant program information to stimulate economic growth in the City of Fayetteville. These programs include:

Victor Sharpe, Community Development Director
Victor is the Community Development Director for the City of Fayetteville, in which he has served since December 2003. Prior to being promoted to this position, he held the position of Planning Services Manager with the City. He has 28 years of local government experience.
Victor began his career as a Community Development Planner for the City of Elizabeth City and worked there for eight years. While in Elizabeth City he was promoted to the position of Planning Director, in which he held for four years prior to moving to Fayetteville. He also served as Interim City Manager for a brief period during his tenure there.
Victor holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from East Carolina University. He is certified through the American Institute of Certified Planners.
A native of Pinetops, NC, Victor resides in Fayetteville with his wife Natalie.
