Offing Drive

History 

A portion of Offing Drive was washed away by Hurricane Matthew on October 8, 2016. Following the disaster, the City conducted an assessment of the roadway to determine an estimated cost for repairs. The estimated cost of fix the roadway is $1 million.

Project Summary

Offing Drive remains closed at Stewart Creek. Designers are evaluating the condition of the culvert and are completing the design of the permanent repair. Upon completion of the final design, bidding and construction of the permanent repair will take place.  The permanent repair will consist of repaving the damaged portion of the roadway and will include a concrete curb and gutter and new handrails and guardrails. 

Current Status

Construction activities are ongoing.  The existing culvert has been inspected and downstream stabilization of the culvert is underway.  Roadway grading and paving activities will continue through August.

Public Meeting

A public meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, June 15th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Westover Recreation Center located at 267 Bonanza Drive.
