- The Houston Astros unveiled the Fayetteville Woodpeckers as their new Class A Advanced minor league affiliate, located in Fayetteville, N.C. Thanks to insight gleaned in town hall meetings, online surveys and one-on-one conversations with residents, the Woodpeckers brand celebrates the core characteristics of the city, its natural beauty and proud community. - The City’s storm debris contractor is substantially complete with its first pass across the city with pickup of Hurricane Florence debris. The contractor is beginning its second and final pass across the city on Tuesday, Oct. 30. This will take approximately three weeks, concluding the week of Nov 12. For more information, click here.
- Excitement is building as construction is now underway on the new Fayetteville Baseball Stadium & Entertainment Venue project. Following a groundbreaking that was hosted by the City of Fayetteville and the Houston Astros last August, construction crews for Barton Malow have been working full speed ahead to ensure successful completion by opening day of the 2019 season. - The City has launched a new app to help residents access City-related information in a very user-friendly format using their smart phones. Residents are encouraged to download the City app, titled Fayetteville NC, available for free in the Apple App Store for iPhones and Google Play for Android devices.
