The next Fayetteville Citizens Academy class is being held on Tuesday, Feb. 26, starting in the Police Department Headquarters, located at 467 Hay St, adjacent to City Hall. Class begins at 8:15 a.m. and features the Police and Fire departments. The class is being held just in time for citizens to get their last chance to meet retiring Fire Chief Ben Major. SEGRA Stadium, the new downtown home of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, will be unveiled to the public for the first time on Sat., April 13 from Noon to 3 p.m. during an event dubbed Fayetteville Fans First Look. Free and open to the public, Fans First Look will give residents an inside peek of the stadium, get an early start on all the fun that will take place there and a chance to check out the stadium’s amenities.
The City of Fayetteville and Fayetteville Woodpeckers announced Feb. 7 that they have entered into a long-term agreement with SEGRA, one of the largest independent fiber bandwidth companies in the United States, to name their downtown, $40 million ballpark as SEGRA Stadium. The Fayetteville Fair Housing Board and the Human Relations Department will host a Lunch ‘n Learn training session, titled “Fair Housing for Housing Providers,” as part of its community outreach and education efforts on Thursday, March 7 at noon.
