Update to Traffic Fatality

(Fayetteville, NC) – Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit have determined the deceased driver that was involved in the motor vehicle crash along Cliffdale Road was living under a fictitious name.

The investigation has revealed that Damian Leonard Miller, Jr was a fictitious name and date of birth. Investigators have determined his correct identity to be Terrance Coleman (B/M, 33 years of age). Coleman has been living under the assumed name for many years. His next of kin has been notified.

Update to Traffic Fatality / Road Closure

(Fayetteville, NC) – Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit have identified the individuals involved in the vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality near the intersection of Highway 87 and Eastern Boulevard on Thursday, June 10, 2021.

The female juvenile passenger that was ejected and pronounced deceased at Cape Fear Valley Hospital has been identified as Perfection Simek (B/F, 7 years of age), of the 1700 block of Eldridge Street. Next of kin has been notified.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash has been identified as Cartrice Coe (B/F, 42 years of age), of the 1700 block of Eldridge Street. She was operating a 2004 Ford Explorer at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash and the events leading up to it remain under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

All lanes of travel on Highway 87 at Eastern Boulevard have been reopened.

Traffic Fatality / Road Closure

 

           

(Fayetteville, NC) – On June 10, 2021 at 1:53 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to a traffic collision at the intersection of Highway 87 and Eastern Boulevard.

 

Upon arrival, officers located a single vehicle that was entering the highway on the on ramp and left the roadway. As the vehicle left the roadway, it appears to have rolled over possibly numerous times. There were six occupants, two adults and four juveniles, inside of the vehicle at the time of the crash. One of the occupants, a female juvenile, was ejected and transported to Cape Fear Valley Hospital by EMS where she was pronounced deceased. Her identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

 

The on ramp of Highway 87 northbound at Eastern Boulevard is currently closed and traffic is being rerouted down Eastern Boulevard as the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit conducts an investigation. Please use an alternate route.
