A Seventh Victim of Rodney Scott Comes Forward

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – A seventh victim has come forward and Detectives with the FPD’s Youth Services Unit have filed an additional charge against Rodney Scott in this most recent case.

 

A seventh victim has recently come forward and FPD Detectives initiated an investigation based on the new information. Scott has now been charged with Indecent Liberties with a Child in relation to this case that occurred in June of 2009. The victim was 16 years of age at the time of the incident.

 

Scott received an additional $50,000 secure bond for the new charges and is still currently being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center, where his total bond is now $17,675,000.

Sixth Victim Comes Forward, Four Additional Charges Filed

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – A sixth victim has come forward and detectives with the FPD’s Youth Services Unit have filed four additional charges against Rodney Scott in this most recent case.

                                                                                                                        

A sixth victim has come forward, after seeing the news coverage of Scott’s arrest.  FPD detectives initiated an investigation, based on the new information, and were able to obtain warrants charging Rodney Scott with an additional count of Statutory Sex Offense With a Child, one (1) count of Crimes Against Nature, and two (2) counts of Indecent Liberties With a Child.  These charges stem from incidents that occurred on February 12, 2016 and February 13, 2016.  The male victim was 15 years old at the time of the offenses.

 

FPD Detectives served the additional warrants on Scott at the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he has remained since his arrest on Monday, May 2, 2016.  Scott’s bond was increased by an additional $275,000.00 for these latest charges.

Additional Victim Comes Forward, 55 Additional Charges Filed

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – An additional victim has come forward and detectives with the FPD’s Youth Services Unit have filed 55 additional charges against Rodney Scott in this most recent case.                                                                                                                        

 

Detectives with the FPD’s Youth Services Unit have learned that a victim, who was thirteen (13) years old at the time, was assaulted by Scott between March 2014 and December 2014.  Detectives obtained warrants charging Scott with eleven (11) counts of Statutory Sex Offense, eleven (11) counts of Sexual Activity by a Substitute Parent, eleven (11) counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child, eleven (11) counts of Child Abuse by Sexual Act, and eleven (11) counts of Crimes Against Nature.  The victim was a foster child in Scott’s care at the time of these incidents.

 

FPD detectives served the additional 55 warrants on Scott at the Cumberland County Detention Center where he has remained since his arrest on Monday, May 2, 2016.  Scott’s bond was increased to $11,800,000.00 secured.

Additional Victims Come Forward, Additional Charges Filed

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Additional victims have come forward and detectives with the FPD’s Youth Services Unit have filed additional charges against Rodney Scott.                                                                                                                        

 

Detectives with the FPD’s Youth Services Unit learned from the victim who came forward, Thursday, May 5, 2016, to report incidents that occurred between June and August 2006, that other incidents occurred between this victim and Scott during April and May 2007.  Based on this new information, FPD detectives were able to obtain warrants charging Rodney Scott with four (4) additional counts of Statutory Sex Offense With a Child, which stem from the assaults on this victim between April and May 2007.

 

Other victims have also come forward to report assaults by Scott, and detectives have filed charges in two additional on-going investigations. 

 

In one case, a male victim, who was 14 years old at the time of the offense, reported that Scott assaulted him in April 2015 at Scott’s residence.  Detectives have charged Scott with Indecent Liberties with a Child in this case.

 

In another case, a separate victim, who was 15 years old at the time of the offense, reported that Scott assaulted him in March to April 2003, also at Scott’s residence.  Detectives have charged Scott with Indecent Liberties with a Child in this case as well.

 

FPD Detectives served the additional warrants on Scott at the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he has remained since his arrest on Monday.  Scott’s bond was increased to $800,000.00 secured.

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the FPD’s Youth Services Unit have received reports from potential additional victims following the arrest of Rodney Scott.

 

The FPD has received dozens of calls from people with information about Rodney Scott, since his arrest.  Detectives are following up on all reports and every lead received.  The FPD believes there are additional victims who have not come forward, or been identified, and we are asking those victims to please call us.

Sexual Assault

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Monday, May 2, 2016, Detectives with the Youth Services Unit of the Fayetteville Police Department were informed of a sexual assault that occurred inside a residence on the 2300 block of Vestal Avenue.  The juvenile victim informed SVU Detectives that a known associate, Rodney Scott (B/M, 50 years of age) of the 2300 block of Vestal Avenue, sexually assaulted him.

Detectives with the FPD’s Youth Services Unit have charged Scott with two (2) counts of Statutory Sex Offense with a Child. Scott was processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center where he is being held on a $100,000.00 secured bond.
