“Brunch Bill” Agenda Item in Council Work Session
(Fayetteville, N.C.) — The City of Fayetteville would like to clarify a misunderstanding that allegedly has been reported in the media regarding the agenda item for the “Brunch Bill.” The council is not voting during the City Council’s Work Session on Monday, August 7, 2017 to approve or deny the proposed city ordinance to allow the sale of alcohol to begin at 10 a.m. on Sundays. The city has received numerous calls from citizens after hearing reports in the media that the City Council was voting to approve or deny the proposed city ordinance during tonight’s meeting.
Tonight’s agenda item is for council to learn about the proposed ordinance and then discuss the proposal. At the end of the discussion, the council could vote on whether to deny moving forward on the proposal, table the agenda item for later discussion, or move it forward in the process by scheduling it for a City Council meeting.
Thank you for your assistance in correcting the misunderstanding regarding the “Brunch Bill.”
