City Accepting Applications for Reformatted Citizens Academy

Post Date:08/15/2017 2:27 PM

(Fayetteville, N.C.) — The City of Fayetteville is accepting applications for its reformatted Citizens Academy. The new program, which will feature quarterly full-day sessions, begins Tuesday, Sept. 19 and will focus on the City’s transportation programs and services.

Citizens will tour Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST), Public Services and Fayetteville Regional Airport facilities. A catered lunch and morning coffee will be provided.

The class will start at 8:15 a.m. at the FAST Transit Center and the event will conclude by 4:30 p.m. FAST will provide a bus for citizens to ride to each facility during the class.

“The reformatted Citizens Academy gives residents an opportunity to see City of Fayetteville employees at work, up close and personal, instead of the old format, which included more briefings and Powerpoint presentations,” City Manager Doug Hewett said. “The intent is to provide a more hands-on and interactive class, so citizens see exactly what our hard-working employees do every day to provide a high level of service.”

To apply for the class, log onto www.fayettevillenc.gov/citizensacademy, fill out the application and email it to Nathan Walls at nwalls@ci.fay.nc.us.
