Splash Pad Ribbon Cutting and Groundbreaking Scheduled
(Fayetteville, N.C.) — A ribbon cutting for the Kiwanis Recreation Center Splash Pad and groundbreaking for the Myers Recreation Center Splash Pad are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 26. Both projects are funded by the Parks & Recreation Bond, passed by citizens in 2016.
The Myers groundbreaking will be held at 10 a.m. and the Kiwanis ribbon cutting will be held at 11 a.m. Myers Recreation Center is located at 1018 Rochester Drive. Kiwanis Recreation Center is located at 352 Devers St.
The Kiwanis Splash Pad will open for operation right after the ribbon cutting. Hours of operation are: Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.
“These splash pad projects represent huge milestones for our Parks & Recreation Bond projects and the residents of Fayetteville,” said Mayor Nat Robertson. “The Parks & Recreation Bond Committee and City staff have made a commitment to building these projects, which provide a substantial quality of life improvement. I am excited to see everything come to fruition and hope that residents enjoy the new facilities.”
A ribbon cutting is expected soon for the Massey Hill Recreation Center Splash Pad.
