Traffic Crash / Road Closure
(Fayetteville, NC) – On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at approximately 5:11 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle crash along Bingham Drive near Greenock Avenue.
The preliminary investigation revealed a sedan was traveling southbound on Bingham Drive when it left the roadway and collided with a utility pole.
The driver of the sedan was evaluated by medical personnel on scene and determined to be uninjured.
Southbound Bingham Drive is currently closed between the Bunce Road Extension and Greenock Avenue due to the damaged utility pole. Local utility companies have been contacted and are currently en route to the scene to determine the stability of the utility pole.
Motorists who normally utilize southbound Bingham Drive are encouraged to take Raeford Road, to Strickland Bridge Road, to Bailey Lake Road, to Bingham Drive as an alternate route until the roadway can be reopened.
FPD’s Cross Creek District Patrol Officers are actively investigating the vehicle crash and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
