Martin Luther King Day Holiday Schedule

The City of Fayetteville’s government administrative offices, including FAST offices, are closed on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 in recognition of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.  FAST will run regular service. Garbage and yard waste for Monday, Jan. 21 will be collected on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Recycling will be collected on regular schedule on Monday, Jan. 21. If any collection service is missed, residents should leave their carts at the curb and, if needed, call 910-433-1FAY (1329). Proposed Transit Fare Increase


The Fayetteville City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 7:00 PM in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 433 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301 to describe the following changes and to receive comments from the public:

Proposed Transit Fare Increase

An across-the-board increase in FAST transit rates is proposed.  The proposal would increase the adult single-ride fare from $1.25 per ride to $1.50 per ride along with proportionate increases in other fare categories and multiple ride passes.

 Individuals who would like to speak at the public hearing must register in advance with the City Clerk. The City Clerk’s office is located on City Hall’s 3rd Floor, 433 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301 and is open during normal business hours, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Citizens may register in person, via fax at (910) 433-1948, by email at, or immediately before the meeting in the City Council Chamber between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM by giving their name and address.

 Citizens may learn more about the proposed service modifications and provide comment at the FAST Transit Center, 1505 Franklin Street, Fayetteville, NC  28301 between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM.

 City Transit staff will also provide an opportunity to learn about the proposed service modifications and to provide comment at:

 Tuesday, May 22, 2018 (4:00pm – 6:00pm), FAST Transit Center, 505 Franklin Street, Fayetteville, NC

Wednesday, May 23, 2018 (12:30pm-2:30pm), FAST Transit Center, 505 Franklin Street, Fayetteville, NC

Once public comments have been received and reviewed, a final service change will be presented for consideration of approval by City Council.  If approved, new transit rates would become effective on or about July 30, 2018.
