Update to Traffic Fatality / Road Closure

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit have identified the individuals involved in the vehicle crash that occurred along Cliffdale Road on Thursday, June 7, 2018 that resulted in a fatality.

 

The motorcyclist has been identified as Isaiah Flowers (W/M, 20 years of age), of Topeka Kansas. Flowers was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.

 

The driver of the Toyota has been identified as Julia Clay (B/F, 71 years of age), of the 1000 block of Kingsley Road. Clay has been charged with Misdemeanor Death by Motor Vehicle. A photo of Clay is not available.

 

Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit continue to actively investigate this fatal crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Traffic Unit by calling 910-433-1807.

Traffic Fatality / Road Closure

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Thursday, June 7, 2018, at approximately 8:47 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle crash at the intersection Cliffdale Road and Pritchett Road

 

The preliminary investigation has revealed a Toyota was traveling west along Cliffdale Road and a motorcycle was traveling east along Cliffdale Road. The driver of the Toyota was in the process of making a left turn from Cliffdale Road on to Pritchett Road when the motorcycle collided with the Toyota.

 

The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the Toyota was treated on scene by medical personnel and not transported to a hospital.

 

The Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit is actively investigating the traffic fatality. The names of all parties involved are currently being withheld until their immediate families can be notified.

 

The intersection of Cliffdale Road and Pritchett Road is closed to all traffic while emergency personnel remain on scene. The roadway is expected to reopen on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 12:30 am. Motorists are encouraged to use Raeford Road or Morganton Road as alternate routes.
