Hay Street at Amtrak Closed for Railroad Crossing Replacement

(Fayetteville, N.C.) — Hay Street will be closed at the Amtrak station for a railroad crossing replacement on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 7 a.m. CSX will be performing the replacement. The project should be completed by Friday, Dec. 7 at 5 p.m.   

The crossing for one of the two railroad lines was previously replaced and the upcoming project will replace the crossing for the other railroad line.

Message boards are placed at the location to notify drivers. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and take different routes into and out of downtown Fayetteville. Drivers can still enter and exit downtown at Russell, Franklin and Rowan streets.
