Citizens Can Sign Baseball Stadium Beam

Post Date:12/04/2018 5:00 PM

(Fayetteville, N.C.) — Fayetteville citizens are invited to sign what will be the last beam installed in the new downtown Fayetteville Woodpeckers’ stadium. The beam will be set up in the City Hall entrance and ready for signatures at Noon on Wednesday, Dec. 5. The beam will be set up for signatures until Jan. 2. This beam will be visible in the stadium’s main entrance once completed.

Silver metallic Sharpie pens will be available at the beam so citizens can sign their name only. Residents are also asked to sign a log-in sheet that will be used for historical purposes and later placed in a time capsule.

The last structural steel member erected in construction projects is seen as a significant milestone in the progress and when placed is referred to as “topping out,” because the contractor has reached the completion of the structure.

For citizens coming to City Hall to sign the beam, parking is available in front of and behind the building at 433 Hay St. Residents must enter the building at the Hay Street entrance.
