Fayetteville Regional Airport Generates $784 Million for Local Economy

(Fayetteville, N.C.) – According to a report released this morning by the N.C. Department of Transportation’s Division of Aviation, Fayetteville Regional Airport generates more than $784 million for its local economy and supports 4,410 jobs.

Fayetteville Regional Airport has seen its number of total passengers increase by 95 percent since 2003. The estimated number of total passengers for 2018 was 461,331. The airport is also in the midst of a $40 million terminal modernization project. 

Additionally, the airport generates over $164 million in personal income and $27 million in state and local taxes.

“We appreciate the State Division of Aviation providing this statistical service to N.C. airports,” Airport Director Bradley S. Whited said. “We are very excited to share the total regional impact of Fayetteville Regional Airport with the community. These numbers highlight the importance of Fayetteville Regional Airport and show why area residents should fly local. The report: North Carolina: The State of Aviation highlights the economic impacts of the state’s public airports and the related aviation and aerospace assets that support North Carolina’s aviation economy. NCDOT created the report to help guide future investment in aviation infrastructure and to act as a tool for recruiting future aviation and aerospace industry.
