Fayetteville Regional Airport Initiates Donation Drive for Federal Workers

(Fayetteville, N.C.) – Flights at Fayetteville Regional Airport are operating as normal thanks to the federal workers at the FAA Air Traffic Control Tower and Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Both groups continue to work without pay as the government shutdown continues.

Fayetteville Regional Airport has set-up a donation drive to collect food, toiletry and baby items for all federal employees working at the airport. The donation drive is in coordination with the airport’s Fixed Base Operator, Signature Flight Support and the Airport Plaza Walmart Supercenter.

“We are so grateful to our TSA and Air Traffic Control partners for continuing to keep us safe and operational as they continue to work without pay,” said Bradley Whited, Fayetteville Regional Airport Director. “We know this is a trying time for many of these workers and want to provide help and support in any way we can. So we’re asking the community to join us in collecting donated goods and showing our support for all their hard work.”

Requested donations include canned goods, non-perishable food items, toiletries and baby items. Donation drop-off bins can be found at the Airport Plaza Walmart Supercenter located at 2820 Gillespie St. in Fayetteville, across from the airport. Signature Flight Support located at 3003 Control Tower Rd. is also serving as a donation drop-off point between the hours of 6AM to 10PM. For questions please call Fayetteville Regional Airport at (910) 433-1160.
