FAST Celebrates National Transit Driver Appreciation Day
(Fayetteville, N.C.) — On Monday, March 18, the Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) will recognize its bus operators in observance of National Transit Driver Appreciation Day (TDAD). This is an annual event to celebrate the public service that public transit vehicle operators provide. For hours on end, FAST operators are tasked with managing to stay on schedule, check fares, give directions, announce stops and remember passenger requests. All while these professionals safely maneuver extra-large vehicles through unpredictable traffic, tough weather conditions and some really tight spaces.
FAST would like to encourage the public to join them in celebrating the commitment, hard work and dedication of our FAST Operators on this day. Public transportation transforms communities and the lives of people living in them by spurring economic development, promoting sustainable lifestyles and providing a higher quality of life. Beyond the economic benefits of transit, the impact that bus operators have within the community is immeasurable and FAST management wants to show their appreciation.
Be sure to stop by and tell a FAST Driver “thank you” on March 18.
