City Partners to Hold Community & Veterans Homeless Stand Down
(Fayetteville, N.C.) – The City of Fayetteville is partnering with the local VA Medical Center and Volunteers of America to hold the annual Community & Veterans Homeless Stand Down in Festival Park. The event will be held Thursday, Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) is providing transportation to and from the park; riders are asked to tell their driver that their destination is the Community & Veterans Homeless Stand Down.
Services offered at the Stand Down include medical screening, free haircuts and manicures, veteran services, community services, housing assistance, NC Works employment assistance, Cumberland County Schools assistance and local, state and federal assistance.
Veterans are asked to bring their VA card or DD214.
All are welcome. Lunch will be served.
