Community Branding Workshop

Post Date:10/03/2019 1:54 PM

(Fayetteville, N.C.) — The City of Fayetteville is asking for citizens to join their neighbors at a Community Branding Workshop on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. The workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Arts Council located at 301 Hay Street. The City of Fayetteville is partnering with Cumberland County and nine stakeholder organizations in developing a new brand platform, designed to convey our community's potential to the world.

Our branding process is guided by North Star Ideas, a leading place branding organization. The efforts began with citizen engagement and research, involving more than 4,000 people, through focus groups, interviews, and surveys, to help uncover our community's brand DNA. This new creative phase strives to bring it to the brand in ways that have authentic meaning for our entire community and beyond.

That's where citizens come in. On Tuesday, we are hosting a Creative Branding Workshop, during which North Star will first give a brief overview of the project, process, and progress to date. Residents will then embark on an interactive discussion exploring the essence of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. Participants will have the opportunity to share thoughts through a variety of interactive brand essence/personality stations. This is a fun and casual exercise, designed to encourage discussions with others from the community and members of the North Star team about our community and its brand.

Brand building is much more than just a logo; it is a community-wide endeavor. For our brand to be embraced and widely implemented, it must be authentic. Community participation in the process is essential to create the most compelling, unique, and successful brand possible for Fayetteville and Cumberland County.
