Fayetteville Airport Opens Concourse to Traveling Public
(Fayetteville, NC) Fayetteville Regional Airport is proud to announce the opening of its new concourse to the traveling public. Access to the public opened early last week, with American Airlines boarding passengers on the first flight out of the new concourse on Wednesday.
The new concourse features an open rotunda with large viewing windows, a brand new waiting area with in-seat charging stations, and three new gates. American Airlines, one of two airline partners at Fayetteville Regional, is putting the new concourse to good use, servicing daily flights to and from Charlotte. The concourse will soon feature a new restaurant, managed by current food operator, Tailwind, which is expected to open in the spring.
The new concourse is Phase 1 of 2 of a $45 million renovation project. Plans to start Phase 2 are already in the works. Phase 2 includes renovation of the front façade, a refreshed interior, a new TSA checkpoint, renovated ticketing and baggage wings and an updated second floor.
“The opening of the new concourse is a big milestone for us,” said Bradley Whited, Airport Director. “No major improvements have been made to the airport terminal since its opening in 1969. The need for upgraded facilities will not only provide a better customer experience but allow for potential growth in the future. We are excited to start moving forward with Phase 2 of the project this spring.”
Fayetteville Regional Airport’s fresh new look goes hand in hand with the convenience factor of a hometown airport. Offering service to two major hubs, local travelers have access to over 230 one-stop destinations. Paired with shorter lines and easier parking, Fayetteville Regional is a smart choice for convenient, easy travel.
Time flies, so why waste it driving when you can take flight from your own backyard?
