Revised schedule for solid waste pickup

Post Date:04/02/2020 3:50 PM

(Fayetteville, N.C.) – The following announcements are changes to the city’s solid waste collection schedule. Please share these important messages from Fayetteville’s Public Services Department.

Beginning Monday April 6, 2020:

  • The city’s solid waste division is staggering work schedules for solid waste employees. This change is an effort to practice social distancing guidelines and mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus.
  • Garbage collection begins at 6 a.m., bulky item collection at 7 a.m. and yard waste at 8 a.m.

We recommend customers put out garbage, yard waste and bulky items the night before their normal pickup day.

(As an example, Monday, April 6 customers should plan to have their garbage outside the night of Sunday, April 5, etc.

  • This schedule will be in effect until further notice.

Good Friday Schedule:

  • Garbage and yard waste pickup will not happen on Good Friday April 10; instead these services will happen on Wednesday, April 8. Recycling will still be picked up on Friday, April 10.

To schedule bulky item pickup, or for other questions, call (910) 433-1329 or download the FayFixIt app and fill out a form requesting help.
