Heat Causing Solid Waste and Yard Waste Pickup Delays

Heat has significantly impacted the readiness of our solid waste and yard waste trucks. As a result, we haven’t had enough available trucks to maintain solid waste and yard waste pickup schedules. Equipment issues with these trucks in such hot and humid conditions as we’ve experienced over the last few weeks are not uncommon. We apologize to residents for the inconvenience. Our first priority is to pick up solid waste (green carts). Our staff is currently working on its off days of Wednesdays and Saturdays to catch up on missed routes. Our second priority is yard waste (brown carts) and it may not be collected this week. At this time, it is recommended to leave solid waste out for pickup and it will be collected as soon as possible. We hope to be back on schedule next week and will keep residents informed on our progress.

In November 2017, the residents of District 3 elected Tisha S. Waddell to her first term on the Fayetteville City Council. She has the distinction of serving as the district’s first female representative and is committed to representing her district with integrity, transparency and improved communications.

She was reared as the daughter of two military parents and has traveled extensively with them during their time of service. Their final duty station was at Ft. Bragg and Fayetteville became her family’s home in 1997.

Mrs. Waddell is an entrepreneur with years of nonprofit and executive level decision-making experience. She currently works with individuals looking to start or grow their own small business and uses her background in conflict resolution to mentor and train women in blended families on best practices for integrating two families peacefully. Mrs. Waddell formerly served as a commissioner on the Fayetteville Redevelopment Commission.

Her vision is one of inclusion for all citizens, working together towards safe, productive neighborhoods with support resources for both seniors and youth alike. Although her priority is representing her district, she is prepared to work to ensure this vision comes to pass for the city at large.

Tisha S. Waddell is the wife of Mr. Larry J. Waddell II and she is the mom of two beautiful daughters, RaVielle and Peyton, and bonus mom to two handsome sons, Aiden and Aaron.
