Heat Causing Solid Waste and Yard Waste Pickup Delays

Heat has significantly impacted the readiness of our solid waste and yard waste trucks. As a result, we haven’t had enough available trucks to maintain solid waste and yard waste pickup schedules. Equipment issues with these trucks in such hot and humid conditions as we’ve experienced over the last few weeks are not uncommon. We apologize to residents for the inconvenience. Our first priority is to pick up solid waste (green carts). Our staff is currently working on its off days of Wednesdays and Saturdays to catch up on missed routes. Our second priority is yard waste (brown carts) and it may not be collected this week. At this time, it is recommended to leave solid waste out for pickup and it will be collected as soon as possible. We hope to be back on schedule next week and will keep residents informed on our progress.

Rental car service, which often has longer hours than most rental car locations, is also offered at Fayetteville Regional Airport. Due to the fact that the rental car companies are housed in side-by-side kiosks, customers benefit from the competition. Several taxicab companies also provide service to customers. Landmark Aviation, Powell Avionics, and Rogers Aircraft Service offer general aviation and pilot training services. Hangars are also available for rental purposes.

Bradley Whited, Airport Director


Brad is the Fayetteville Regional Airport Director for the City of Fayetteville, in which he has served since August 1995. 
Previous to Fayetteville, Brad was the General Manager for Corporate Jets Airport Management Services, at Cumberland Regional Airport in Maryland and managed both the Airport and Fixed Base Operator (FBO) fueling and aircraft maintenance operations. He also served as the Commissioner of Aviation for Dutchess County Airport, NY and as the Assistant Airport Manager for Cortland County, NY for a total of 40 years of Airport Management experience.  
Brad earned his Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) Certification from the American Association of Airport Executives in 1984, an Associate Degree in Aerospace Technology from S.U.N.Y. Farmingdale, NY, a Bachelor of Science in Airport Management from Middle Tennessee State University, and Master Business Administration from Fayetteville State University.
