The FAST Center

A multi-modal transit center

The City of Fayetteville was awarded a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant for $8 million in July 2012 to construct a downtown Multimodal Transit Center, which will be utilized by the Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST). Construction on the new FAST Center is projected to begin in early 2014 and it is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2017. FAST is extremely excited that the Multimodal Transit Center will become a reality as the result of this FTA grant, which is the largest FTA Bus Livability Program grant ever awarded in the state of North Carolina. This new center will be the type of facility our transit customers have long awaited and they deserve.
