Update to Traffic Fatality / Road Closure

(Fayetteville, NC) – Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit have identified the individuals involved in the vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality on Cliffdale Road in between Regency Drive and Bunce Road on Saturday, June 12, 2021.

The driver of the 2003 Chevrolet Impala that was pronounced deceased on scene has been identified as Damian Leonard Miller, Jr (B/M, 22 years of age), of the 400 block of Acacia Circle. Next of kin has been notified.

The driver of the Cadillac SRX has been identified as Trenton Young (B/M, 46 years of age), of the 300 block of W. Richardson Circle in Hartsville, SC. The passenger of the Cadillac SRX has been identified as Tracy Young (B/F, 56 years of age), of the same address as the driver.

The cause of the crash and the events leading up to it remain under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

All lanes of travel on Cliffdale Road between Regency Drive and Bunce Road have been reopened.

Traffic Fatality / Road Closure

(Fayetteville, NC) – On June 12, 2021 at 7:46 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to a traffic collision on Cliffdale Road between Regency Drive and Bunce Road.  

Upon arrival, officers located two vehicles that had been traveling on Cliffdale Road, headed in opposite directions. One of the vehicles, a Chevrolet Impala, was traveling outbound on Cliffdale Road and went left of center, into oncoming traffic, and struck a Cadillac SRX that was traveling inbound on Cliffdale Road. The Chevrolet Impala caught fire upon collision and the driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

There were two occupants in the Cadillac SRX that were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Cliffdale Road is currently closed between Regency Drive and Bunce Road and traffic is being rerouted down Bunce Road as the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit conducts an investigation. Please use an alternate route.
