How do I get a copy of a Police Incident or Accident Report?
You may get a copy of a report at the Police Administration Building located at 467 Hay Street from the Central Records Unit. Incident Reports are also available for download from our website. There is no charge for a copy. Accidents reports are not currently available online, but can be obtained by contacting the Central Records Unit located in the Main Administration Building at 467 Hay Street. The more information you have, to include the report number, the more readily your report can be located. How do I get a concealed weapons permit?
The police department does not issue concealed weapons permits. You can contact the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) at (910) 323-1500 to apply for this type of permit.
The Fayetteville Police Departments Policies and procedures dictate that all citizens that are involved in a collision should remain at the original crash location/area. If the crash is severe then they should not attempt to move them. If the collision is minor or damage under 1000 dollars they should move their vehicles into an adjacent parking lot after taking photographs and call for law enforcement. If you enter into an agreement with the other party that you will handle it amongst yourselves then know that no report can be taken for you after that agreement has been made no matter who the owner of the vehicle is. The controlling party can enter into this agreement just as the owner can. The only way a delayed crash report can be done is if both parties determine a time to meet back at any police department. If a hit and run occurs the citizen should remain at the scene of the collision and call 911. If the citizen decides to come to the department to report the collision they will be directed back to the original location to call 911. If the citizen is unaware of where the damage to a vehicle occurred then they should return to the last place they knew that their vehicle was secure and undamaged. If the citizen feels it is unsafe to return to the crash location then they should go to a safe location near the original crash location and then call 911. They should not respond to Police departments to have collision reports completed because they will not unless it falls under the one exception listed above.
