Testimonials
The Fayetteville Police Department is comprised of many different people, all brought together for one common goal: serving the community of Fayetteville and keeping the citizens safe. Every officer has a unique story to tell. Learn why these officers chose the Fayetteville Police Department in the testimonials below.
Detective Stephanie Berrios-Rivera
Aggravated Assault Division
Life experiences led me to be a Police Officer. I would be lying if I said that I wanted to be a police officer since I was a little girl. Truth is, it took many eye opening situations to make me realize that I wanted to make a difference, wanted to standup for those in need, and wanted to speak up for those not being heard. I do not come from a law enforcement family but the Fayetteville Police Department provided me with the opportunity to create my own since 2018. During the time that I have been here, I have been given the opportunity to train officers, attend many trainings, and participate in various community events. This department allowed me to be part of a recruiting event where I was born and raised, Puerto Rico. In 2021, I was assigned to the Aggravated Assault Unit where I am able to continue to make a difference in the community I live in. Every day is a new challenge. Nobody said it would be easy, but it sure is worth it!

Detective Daniel Edmonds
Youth Services Division
"My father has been with the Police Department since before I was born, so I have grown up running through the halls or sitting at his desk and listening to old war stories. The more I listened, the more I became intrigued with the lifestyle of being a cop; I thought it was amazing how strangers from all walks of life could come together day in and day out and instill a certain level of trust that can only be described as a family. That is what made me want to join this particular department, because out of all the other departments in North Carolina, this is the only one that makes me feel like I’m part of a family. It has made me feel that way when I was younger and still does."
Officer Lorilei-Joyce Fagota
Patrol Officer
I have been with the department since 2019 and I've learned a lot throughout my time here. I relocated here from the West Coast to help out my sister and immediately sought out law enforcement opportunities here due to my aspirations of becoming a cop. I joined the FPD because being from a tiny island in the South Pacific, FPD presented a GREAT opportunity for me and my family that I just couldn't miss out on! It has been an honor to serve and protect the citizens of Fayetteville this far and I wouldn't have it any other way. This department has become a 2nd home for me and the people I work with have become family. If you're looking for a sign to join this department, HERE IT IS!
