Traffic Fatality

(Fayetteville, NC) – On June 16, 2024, at approximately 4:10 a.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department Traffic Unit responded to the Murchison Road area in reference to a traffic collision.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a single vehicle traveling southbound on Murchison Road struck a pole, and upon impact, the vehicle caught on fire.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
