Homicide Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Saturday, October 26, 2024, at approximately 10:12 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 2000 block of Cowan Street reference a reported shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel were summoned to the scene, at which time the victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The victim succumbed to injuries sustained during the shooting at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The victim’s identity is being withheld until next of kin notifications have been made.

The Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers program is offering a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information submitted to Crimestoppers which leads to an arrest.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating this homicide and request anyone with information or video contact detectives or Crimestoppers.
