Traffic Fatality Update

(Fayetteville, NC) - The victim involved in the traffic collision that occurred on November 18, 2024, at Ramsey Street and Peace Street has been identified as Wendel Lee Craig Urquhart (Black male, 52 years old) of Fayetteville, NC.

Urquhart was attempting to cross Ramsey Street when he entered the lane of an SUV traveling southbound on Ramsey Street.

His family has been notified. There is no further information to be released at this time.

Traffic Fatality

(Fayetteville, NC) - On November 18, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department Traffic Unit responded to Ramsey Street at Peace Street in reference to a collision involving an SUV and a bicycle.

The preliminary investigation revealed that an SUV was traveling southbound on Ramsey Street when it collided with a bicyclist attempting to cross the street.

The bicyclist was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
