Suspect Wanted for Attempted Armed Robbery

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the FPD’s Robbery Unit have obtained warrants for the attempted armed robbery and assault of a guest that was staying at the Motel 6 located at 2676 Cedar Creek Road on August 15, 2016.

 

The investigation revealed that Robert Linton (B/M, 27 years of age) met the victim at the motel room during the early morning hours of August 15, 2016.  While in the room, Linton produced a handgun and attempted to rob Keith Randolph (B/M, 35 years of age).  Randolph attempted to fight off Linton, when he was struck in the head with the handgun.  Linton fled the room and was last seen fleeing in possibly a white SUV.

Detectives with the FPD’s Robbery Unit have charged Linton with Attempted Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Inflicting Serious Injury.  Linton should be considered armed and dangerous.  Detectives are continuing to investigate additional robberies that Linton may be involved within our city as well as crimes in other states.  Detectives are encouraging friends and family of Linton to have him surrender to law enforcement.
