Update to Traffic Fatality
(Fayetteville, NC) – Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit have identified the driver and passenger involved in the vehicle crash that occurred along Pennsylvania Avenue on Thursday, January 25, 2018.
The driver has been identified as Eddie L. Arrington (B/M, 77 years of age), of the 3000 block of Hickory Hill Road in Fayetteville. Arrington was operating a 2005 Buick LeSabre. Arrington was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.
The passenger has been identified as Renan Wilson (B/F, 53 years of age), of the 5200 block of Morrozoff Drive in Fayetteville. Wilson was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in serious condition.
There is no additional information to release.
Traffic Fatality
(Fayetteville, NC) – On Thursday, January 25, 2018 at approximately 11:07 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a single vehicle crash along Pennsylvania Avenue near Ernest Street.
The preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle was traveling Northwest along Ernest Street, went through the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue, ran off the roadway, and struck a tree. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene and a passenger in the vehicle was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in serious condition.
The identity of the driver and the passenger are currently being withheld until their immediate families can be notified.
Officers with the FPD’s Traffic Unit are actively investigating the crash and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
