Suspect Wanted for Attempted Robbery

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Robbery Unit have identified the suspect responsible for the attempted robbery of the Exxon Short stop, located along the 3400 block of Ramsey Street, on March 11, 2019.

 

Richard A. Johnson

 

Detectives have identified the suspect as Richard A. Johnson (B/M, 33 years of age). As a result of the investigation, detectives have obtained warrants charging Johnson with Attempted Common Law Robbery.

 

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Johnson is asked to immediately call 911 or contact Crimestoppers by visiting fay-nccrimestoppers.org or calling 910-483-TIPS.

Attempted Robbery Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Monday, March 11, 2019 at approximately 9:13 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to Exxon Short Stop, located along the 3400 block of Ramsey Street, reference a reported attempted robbery.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed a suspect entered the business and demanded the clerk open the register. The clerk refused to do so and the suspect subsequently left the business, at which time the clerk called 911.

 

The suspect was described as a light skin black male, 30-35 years of age, 5’06 -5’07 in height, approximately 155-160 pounds.

 

Detectives have obtained still images from the surveillance system and are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the suspect.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Robbery Unit are actively investigating the robbery and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
