Homicide Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 10:10 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of Bingham Drive in reference to a disturbance between a male and female.

Responding officers determined the male victim had been intentionally struck by the vehicle driven by the female suspect, after a physical disturbance.

Homicide detectives were able to identify the female suspect as Destiny Gauvin (W/F, 22 years of age) of the 200 block of Crabapple Circle.

Gauvin has been charged with First Degree Murder. She was arrested, and is currently at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.

The male victim has been identified as Gary Puckett, (W/M 61 years of age) of the 5800 block of Horton Place. His next of kin has been notified.
