Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Vital Statistics has requested the Fayetteville Police Department’s assistance in locating the next of kin for two patients that have passed away. Their deaths are not suspicious.

Update to Robbery Investigation
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the death of Marvin Herring a homicide. The Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have made an arrest of the suspect involved in his homicide that occurred on March 11, 2021 at 2893 Owen Drive.

Special Olympics of North Carolina “Carry the Flame” Torch Run
On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, the Fayetteville Police Department will be running the torch through downtown Fayetteville, in a 5k run, to support the Special Olympics of North Carolina. The 5k is open to any and all runners and walkers who wish to participate.
