  • Suspects Sentenced in 2014 Rape Investigations

    (Fayetteville, NC) – On Friday, September 30, 2016, Cedric Maurice King and Clifton Lamar Hayes entered guilty pleas in Cumberland County Superior Court for terror that each man inflicted upon the City of Fayetteville and Cumberland County during the weekend of December 12, 2014. The suspects committed three (3) rapes along other violent acts during that time span and the quick response and parallel investigations by the Fayetteville Police Department and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the capture of these violent offenders.

  • Update to Berriedale Traffic Crash

    (Fayetteville, NC) – Officers with the FPD’s Traffic Unit have identified the driver from the late night crash on Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the Shadowlawn subdivision as Shelley Renay Smith (W/F, 28 years of age) of the 1000 block of Rulnick Street in Fayetteville. Smith remains at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in fair condition.
