Inspector's Decisions Review Appeal
In accordance with NCGS 160D-1127, the City of Fayetteville has implemented the following process for the review of decisions made by Building, Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing Inspectors when requested:
Any disagreement with a decision made by a City building, electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing inspector must reviewed by the appropriate trade inspection staff's supervisor. If there is a disagreement with the trade supervisor's decision, than an appeal to Chief Building Official can be made using the form and instruction provided therein.
Appeals to Stop-Work Orders must be appealed to the North Carolina Office of the State Fire Marshal Engineering Division per North Carolina General Statute 160D-1114.
Appeals to buildings placard as Dangerous/Unsafe by City of Fayetteville's Permitting and Inspections Division must be appealed to the North Carolina Office of the State Fire Marshal Engineering Division per North Carolina General Statute 160D-1127.
Appeals to Order for Corrective Actions are outlined in North Carolina General Statute 160D-1123.
Please note that all appeals must be made within 10 days of the order/placard issued.
