Celebrating Engineers Week
Ashley Yun, Engineer I
Discuss the crucial role engineers play in innovating solutions to global challenges and how their work impacts society positively.
"Every day, we contribute to society by designing, constructing, and maintaining infrastructures. Engineering encompasses more than just problem-solving and adaptability. Our efforts strive to render infrastructure safer, more resilient, sustainable, and conducive to a clean environment."
Ethan D. Riddle, Engineer II
Share personal stories or anecdotes about individuals who inspired to pursue their careers in the field.
"I grew up farming and working in construction with my family right here in and around the Fayetteville area. That way of life is hard for most to relate to or understand but the ingenuity, work ethic, and being charged with community improvement. In short to give any individual credit for inspiration would be a disservice to my entire family, the community of Gray's Creek, and the City of Fayetteville."
Viktoriia Poniava, Engineering Technician
Share personal stories or anecdotes about individuals who inspired to pursue their careers in the field.
"My name is Viktoriia, originally from Russia. Despite originally wanting to pursue medicine, I ended up studying civil engineering at my mother's suggestion. After obtaining bachelor's and master's degrees by age 23, I worked for a renowned construction company. I find great fulfillment in working with the local government to contribute to our city's development."
