Rockford Drive Drainage Improvements
Project Overview:
The City of Fayetteville seeks to improve the drainage capacity mainly along Rockford Drive in the Winter Park neighborhood based on the areas of flooding concern identified as part of the Beaver Creek 3 Watershed Study. The City has selected AECOM to provide an engineering study, design, and construction phase services to identify and provide a solution to mitigate the flooding.
The Project intends to replace approximately 4,600 linear feet of stormwater pipe and channel. Most of the existing drainage infrastructure is adjacent to roadways, but a portion is behind residences. The outfall of the stormwater system is through a pipe that extends under Bailey Lake Road. The goal of the project is to meet or exceed the City’s 10-year level of service. Previously, modeling has indicated that several areas of concern do not meet those levels. A map of the project area is provided in Figure 1.
