    Public groundbreaking ceremony for new fire station Aug. 30

    The City and Fayetteville firefighters will celebrate the groundbreaking for the new Fire Station Four on Tuesday, August 30 at 10 a.m. The new state-of-the-art station, located at 4210 Bragg Boulevard, will be centrally located to improve response in high-demand areas.

    FAST moving forward with new grant and plan approval

    August is a month of progress for the Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST). Fayetteville is one of 150 recipients selected for a Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) grant announced this week. The $280,500 award will help FAST replace gasoline light-transit vehicles.

    Leaders promoted to City Manager’s Office

    A new era begins today for the City of Fayetteville. The City Manager promoted Kelly Olivera to the role of Interim Assistant City Manager, effective today. Also, effective today, Jodi Phelps, the City’s Marketing and Communications Director, will assume the role of Chief of Staff.

    Construction begins Monday for splash pad upgrades

    Construction begins Monday, August 8 at the splash pad outside J.S. Spivey Recreation Center. The splash pad will close Monday and not reopen until further notice. Signs indicating the closure will be posted at the site.
